Renton Farmers Market will have temporary new home this summer

Opening day for the market will be June 3.

The Renton Farmers Market will be in a new location in 2025.

Due to scheduled construction at Piazza Park, the Renton Farmers Market is planning to move to Williams Avenue between 2nd Street and 3rd Street. The move is expected to be temporary.

“We’re still going through the logistics of the permitting process and some other coordination just to ensure that’s going to be a safe location,” Renton parks and recreation administrator Maryjane Van Cleave said. “We want to make sure we have the proper street barriers and closures.”

Opening day for the market will be on June 3 as they start their 24th season. The market happens every Tuesday until Sept. 30, and has an average of 85 vendors selling their goods for a total of 18 days.

Van Cleave said this is the first time the market has moved to this location. She said they are trying to be respectful to the business owners on the street who are concerned about parking.

“We may have to put in some more traffic mitigation to make sure there’s flow and those businesses aren’t negatively impacted,” Van Cleave said. “The purpose of doing these things is not to have a consequential negative impact. It’s to hopefully benefit and leverage it for them, as well as us.”

Free parking for the market is available in the City Center Parking Garage on 2nd Street.
