Woman shot at while in her car: At 5:41 p.m. June 24 in the 600 block of Southwest 5th Court, officers responded to a victim who reported she was shot at while driving her car. The victim stated she was driving behind a car belonging to her boyfriend’s friend when he got out of his car and told her to get away from him and fired twice, striking her vehicle. No one was injured. Officers located two spent shell casings and saw damage to the victim’s car. The case is still under investigation.

Public defecation: At 12:10 p.m. June 27 in the 50 block of Southwest Sunset Boulevard, officers contacted a subject for defecating in public. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

Public drug use: At 6:30 p.m. June 27 in the 600 block of South 2nd Street, an officer on routine patrol witnessed an individual smoking suspected illegal drugs in plain view. The officer contacted the suspect, who admitted to smoking fentanyl. The subject was arrested, and during a search, the officer located suspect drug paraphernalia. He was booked into jail.

Vehicle shot at after assault: At 1:42 a.m. June 27 in the 1300 block of Duvall Avenue Northeast, officers responded to a shooting. The victim told officers someone shot at his vehicle after assaulting him. A witness came forward with video of the incident. The suspect was gone when officers arrived. The victim suffered minor injuries due to the physical assault. No one was injured in the shooting, although bullets struck the car. The case is still under investigation.

Car window broken: At 1:39 p.m. June 28 in the 400 block of Renton Center Way Southwest., officers responded to a report of malicious mischief. The victim stated that they were inside a business having lunch and, when they returned to their car about 45 minutes later, they found that their passenger window had been broken. There was nothing taken.
