Drugs found during domestic violence arrest: At 8:40 a.m. April 8 in the 17000 block of 108th Avenue Southeast, officers were dispatched to a report of a physical assault in progress. Dispatch advised that a witness was driving behind the suspect vehicle and witnessed the male passenger assault the female driver in the face. Officers located the vehicle, established probable cause for fourth-degree domestic violence assault and arrested the suspect. During a search, narcotics were found on the suspect, positively identified as meth. Officers added a charge of knowingly possessing a controlled substance. The suspect was booked into jail.

Gun brandished: At 1:57 p.m. April 9 near the 200 block of Burnett Avenue South, officers were dispatched to a threat with a weapon. Dispatch advised that a witness reported that while she was traveling to work, two males in a sedan flashed a gun at her. The suspect’s last known location of travel was northbound on Talbot Road South. Officers could not locate the suspect or develop probable cause for assault. The case was turned over to the investigations unit.

Naked man in the street gets slashed with knife: At 6:23 p.m. April 9 at the intersection of 116th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 188th Street, officers were dispatched to a report of a lewd behavior by a subject. Dispatch noted that the subject was a white male with a heavy build and was completely nude. Officers arrived to find two subjects, one bleeding and the other holding a knife and on the phone with 911. Officers detained both subjects. The reporting party stated that he and his wife were walking their dogs when he noticed a completely naked man following them. He called 911. The naked man continued to follow them, and the victim told him to go away when the suspect swung at him. The victim kicked the suspect, pulled out his knife when the suspect rushed at him again, so the victim slashed at him with the knife, slicing him along the ribs. The victim was then able to run away. Based on the facts and circumstances of the case, officers determined that the victim’s stabbing of the suspect was in self-defense, and he was released at the scene. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The victim does not want to press charges for assault.

Using drugs in public: Around 12:30 a.m. April 12 around the 200 block of Burnett Avenue South, an officer was doing routine patrol downtown, and the officer observed three subjects passing drug paraphernalia between them and each smoking drugs. The officer was able to observe them for some time and establish probable cause to arrest all three for unlawful public dangerous drug activities. Each subject was detained and searched prior to arrest. They each admitted to smoking meth. During the search, the officer developed probable cause for one of the suspects for an additional charge of possession and use of controlled substances, as he knowingly possessed controlled substances, which were removed and recovered directly from his pockets. The officer tested the drugs, and they were positive for methamphetamines and fentanyl.

Man preparing to smoke meth arrested: At about 5:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Rainier Avenue South, an officer observed a subject actively preparing to consume illegal drugs. The officer detained and advised the subject that he was under arrest. During questioning, the suspect admitted he was preparing to smoke meth. The search resulted in a clear baggy with drug residue of white powder. Probable cause was established for unlawful public dangerous drug activities by preparing and consuming a dangerous drug in a public location. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
